  Dining at Lone Pine Hotel

Dining at Lone Pine is traditional, yet features a contemporary twist boasting a tantalising blend of local and international fare, with a distinctive emphasis on Hainanese cuisine.

The Bungalow

All day dining is available at The Bungalow, a homely restaurant with picturesque views of the swimming pool and beach. The daily breakfast, lunch and dinner menus should satisfy every craving. Whether you are looking for a romantic sunset dinner, a family get-together or a private BBQ in the garden, The Bungalow is the perfect choice.

While Hainanese cooking is the favourite at the Lone Pine, the chefs have creatively infused some delicious Hainanese dishes with a touch of local Malaysian flavour. A must try would be “The Bungalow Duet”, where half a dozen mouth-watering Batu Maung satays are served with delicious deep-fried Hainanese Spring Rolls and accompanied by the traditional spicy sour sauce and condiments.

Or start off with “The Bungalow’s Soupe A-la Fins”, which is a combination of shark fins, crab meat, shredded chicken and mushroom in a thickened soup served with pickled green chillies and bean sprouts.

  • Tiffin at The Bungalow

The term tiffin was first used in 1785, in India and neighbouring eastern countries. This light midday meal was often transported in tiffin carriers, innovative interlocking stacked porcelain or metal round containers in a metal frame, thus, keeping food warm and each flavour distinct.
So as the arrival of the tiffinwallahs in British India were eagerly awaited, anticipate the aroma that fills the air in The Bungalow as your tiffin carrier arrives with the main dishes of asam fish curry and chicken curry kapitan, vegetables, steamed rice and a variety of chutneys (pickles) . The Tiffin lunch and dinner starts with The Bungalow’s signature dish of satay and Penang ‘loh bak’ (local meat roll), concluding with the tempting dessert of the day served with a steaming cup of Penang’s pure white coffee for a complete local repast.

A fusion of Malay, Chinese (Hainanese) and Indian cuisine, that invokes the nostalgia of colonial India but with creative flavours of Malaysia !

Daily Tiffin
Lunch : 12.00 noon – 2.00 pm
Dinner : 6.30 pm – 10.00
RM 28.00 ++ per person
